Agreement to enhance cooperation between ACC and the German Jordanian University

The Amman Chamber of Commerce signed an agreement with the German Jordanian University to enhance joint cooperation between the two parties in the academic, scientific, research and training fields, in line with the requirements of the labor market and to raise the capabilities of workers in the commercial and service sectors.
The agreement, which was signed by the Chamber's Chairman Khalil El Haj Tawfiq and the University President Dr. Alaa Al-Din Al-Halhouli, in the presence of the Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, Eng. Othman Badir, stipulates the development of training mechanisms, applied education, leadership and innovation, and support for training programs to raise the technical efficiency of national human cadres specialized in various fields.
The agreement aims to expand the scope of cooperation in the field of holding training programs with the University's Consulting and Training Center, exchange expertise in the fields of designing and evaluating training programs, and cooperate in conducting studies and research in areas and topics of common interest.
The agreement also included cooperation in the field of providing specialized consultations, and cooperation with the University's Consulting and Training Center in terms of holding these training programs inside and outside Jordan, and marketing joint training programs in cooperation with the University's Consulting and Training Center.
The agreement encourages cooperation and exchange of expertise with the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship at the university for the purpose of establishing a culture of innovation, start-ups and developing technology transfer, and studying cooperation in the field of developing entrepreneurial ideas and innovation and in the field of qualifying, developing, building and training capacities of cadres and developing creative ideas in technical, professional and academic fields.
The Chairman of the Chamber, Khalil El Haj Tawfiq, praised the scientific status of the university and the diverse capabilities and experiences of its graduates that contribute to developing businesses and their entrepreneurship, explaining that the chamber seeks to provide distinguished services to the commercial and service sector to contribute to sustainable economic development in Jordan.
El Haj Tawfiq stressed that training and qualifying the commercial sector comes within the strategic objectives of the Amman Chamber of Commerce within well-studied programs to build and develop the capabilities and skills of workers in the commercial and service sectors and depends on market needs, which will necessarily be reflected in the nature and quality of services provided in these sectors.
He explained that signing this agreement opens the door to cooperation between the private commercial and service sector and educational institutions and supports the capacity building process through the idea of applied training, experimental education, specialized training programs and the exchange of expertise between the private sector and the educational sector.
Haj Tawfiq, who holds the position of Third Vice President of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, pointed out the possibility of future cooperation between the Chamber, the University, and the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which is one of the strongest joint Arab-foreign chambers, with a total of 16 chambers, to hold specialized courses for the commercial and service sector or design master's programs in partnership between the University and the two chambers in various fields according to market needs.
For his part, Dr. Al-Halhouli pointed out that the German Jordanian University adopts the applied technical education approach that combines the theoretical and applied scientific aspects to meet the needs of Arab and global markets in the sectors of engineering, business, logistics, and languages.
Dr. Al-Halhouli stressed that the partnership with the commercial sector is a priority for the German Jordanian University, and that the university is proud of the cooperation and partnership with the private sector, which is a true embodiment of the idea of applied education, praising the role of the Chamber in developing the business sector in Jordan.
For their part, the attending board members stressed that signing the agreement is the culmination of the ongoing cooperation and coordination between the Chamber and the University in the fields of training, qualification and holding courses, noting that the Chamber is keen to communicate and cooperate with higher education institutions and Jordanian universities, and to prepare programs to train workers in the commercial sector and qualify them for the labor market.
They pointed out that the "Amman Chamber of Commerce Training Academy" is equipped with the latest laboratories and supported by the best human cadres who have the expertise that qualifies them to hold training courses and workshops and provide accredited certificates from the most important international universities and academies.
They pointed out the need to hold joint specialized courses in the field of tax consulting, tax work, logistics and supply chains and qualify participants to work in the departments of purchasing, supply chains and all logistics operations.
The signing of the agreement was attended by the Chamber's Vice Chairmen Nabil Al-Khatib and Bahjat Hamdan, the Chamber's Treasurer Khattab Banna, and the Chamber's Deputy Director General Bashar Muqbil.
