Prime Minister meets with the Chairman of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce

The Chairman of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce, Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, met with Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan at the Prime Ministry, as part of the government's approach to consultation and constructive communication to emphasize the importance of joint cooperation between the public sector and the commercial and service sector to support the national economy.

El-Haj Tawfiq said in a statement that the meeting was at the kind invitation of the Prime Minister and that this is a positive message from the government towards the private sector, reflecting its keenness on dialogue and listening to the viewpoints, demands, proposals and challenges of the trade and services sector.

El-Haj Tawfiq added that the Prime Minister stressed the government's appreciation and respect for the chambers of commerce and their role in serving the national economy, calling for working in a team spirit to face the challenges of the stage.

El-Haj Tawfiq explained that it was agreed to hold a meeting soon at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce that brings together the Prime Minister and the economic team with members of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce to discuss the challenges and obstacles facing the sector, and that the chamber will work to prepare an integrated matrix for all the challenges, obstacles and proposed solutions to discuss them in the meeting.

El-Haj Tawfiq pointed out that the Prime Minister stressed during the meeting that the partnership with the private sector will not be a slogan, but rather a real partnership based on mutual respect and trust, with the national interest as its compass, and that the government will work to facilitate procedures to attract new investments and enable existing investments, noting that the government is aware of the challenges facing the private sector, indicating the government's keenness on partnership, concerted efforts and effective cooperation in facing economic challenges, and developing solutions that serve the national economy and achieve sustainable development.

According to El-Haj Tawfiq, the Prime Minister stressed the prominent national contribution of the commercial and service sector, and that it is an important national partner and a basic tributary in supporting the pillars of economic development, stimulating investment and creating job opportunities.

El-Haj Tawfiq explained that the title of the next stage is a national economic approach that is participatory between the government and the commercial sector to improve the business environment, enhance the competitiveness of economic sectors and enable business owners to recover from the economic repercussions and geopolitical conditions that the region has experienced.

Haj Tawfiq stressed the importance of institutionalizing the partnership between the public and private sectors, through a clear plan and work policy during the coming period, which will contribute to overcoming difficulties, enabling the growth and strengthening of commercial and service activity in the Kingdom, and supporting the national economy.

Haj Tawfiq suggested establishing a council for partnership between the government and the private sector headed by the Prime Minister with the aim of enhancing coordination and cooperation between the two parties, stressing that establishing this council will contribute to unifying efforts to develop effective strategies to support the national economy and improve the investment environment.

Chairman pointed out that chambers of commerce are houses of expertise and a basic and important partner in economic life, pointing to the possibility of investing the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and its relations with Arab, Islamic and foreign chambers of commerce to attract new investments and create job opportunities for skilled and professional Jordanian youth in many countries of the world.

He stressed that the Jordan Chamber of Commerce is fully prepared to cooperate with the government on all economic issues of interest to the national economy, including submitting the necessary proposals and recommendations to improve the investment environment and enhance economic growth.
